For this litter, we chose Stranger Things as a theme.
Stranger Things is an American Scifi-horror-drama television series that's set in the 1980s.
The series is set in the fictional rural town of Hawkins, Indiana.
The nearby Hawkins National Laboratory ostensibly performs scientific research for the United States Departement of Energy, but secretly does experiments into the paranormal and supernatural, including those that involve human test subjects. Inadvertently, they have created a portal to an alternate dimension , "the Upside Down". The influence of the Upside Down starts to affect the unknowing residents of Hawkins in calamitous ways.
So far, it's 4 season of the show, and we are waiting for the fifth season that will come in 2024.
There are many names that we could have chose, but, Eleven - who is a very special person and plays a very big part in the show, was chosen before the puppies were born.
Also Jim Hopper was a name that we chose before they were born. This because he's "the man". He's also the person that Elevn lives with.
Then it was Nacny Wheeler. She's been palying a big part of the series, and has grown very much as a person and becomming strong and independant. She's a popular and pretty young woman.
So - these three names was set.
Then there were two more.
Damien wanted Dustin Henderson. Dustin is is a cute boy with a big heart. And he really shows this in the fourth season. So, our little rascal of a pup is named Dustin.
Then it's Robin Buckley. Robin in the series is a close friend to Steve, and has become a part of the "gang". (A bit funny is it that Robin in the series is played by Maya Hawke, who is the daughter of Uma Thurman who plays the lead role in Kill Bill, wich was a theme for a Rottweiler litter we had in 2009. And another thing: the girl that Robin is in love with, she's played by the same actor that played Anne with an E; Amybeth McNulty.)
So, how did we name them?
Eleven was easy.
She was first born, black/tan with a white stripe on her chest.
Her two sisters are liver/tan, so it was an easy choice.
Jim Hopper - also easy since he was the biggest of the boys. A bit darker in the tan than his brother. So, a butch dog needs the name of a butch caracter.
Dustin Henderson was also easy, since it was the other male name and Dustin was the second male pup. He's also a bit chatty, so, the name fits him.
So, the two livers ...
Rather an easy choice as well, since Nancy Wheeler is very feminine and the darkest of the liver/tan girls is a bit smaller than her sister.
And then it was only Robin Buckley left.
On August 23, 5 puppies were born here at Mei Alucinor.
Two males and three bitches.
Mys had a very easy birth.
We went to bed as usual on the 22.8, slept until Mys woke me up at 4 o'clock. She was then shivering a bit, so I understood that something was going on. I got up with her, let her out, put her in the puppybin and sat with her.
At 5.08, the first puppy was born.
At 6.20, she was done. All five were out.
As last time, Mys is a very good mother.
The puppies are now 3 week old. They are walking very well, eating a lot and after sleep, they move away from their bed to "do their business". They have also started to show some personality, and it will be fun to follow up and see if it will change during the next weeks.
On July 30, Mei Alucinor Gilbert Blythe aka Chaos was shown for judge Pirjo Aaltonen at Drøbak hundeklubbs show. He got Very Good and the judge had this to say about him:
"masculine male, needs more training, exc body, rouch back, exc coat, a bit narrow front, typ lines of head, a bit loose lips and a bit light eyes, exc coat, moves well in rear, a bit narrow in front, a bit loose albues, moves well from side"
The only thing I don't agree with here, is the light eyes. He's got pretty nice color of his eyes. But, it was a sunny day, and the two bitches that was show also got comments on their eye color.
I think his owner Jorunn did a great job showing him. They have trained a lot, that's easy to see. And, Chaos is a very happy dog :-)
I'm so lucky that I can follow "my puppies" on Facebook, Insta and Snap Chat. I love to see pictures and films of them. So thank you to my puppybuyers for sharing <3
Adél wrote this on her FB page today:
I need to write it-whoever said that this dog is aggressive doesn't understand dogs or this breed and it's a blatant lie. In the time I've her, she hasn't shown a single hint of aggression or dominance against people. On the contrary-she is friendlyg to everybody. She is great to people,to children, also to dogs. She is great, she is funny, she is the best friend for every fun and situation.I love her <3.
(Adèl is the owner of Mei Alucinor Alex Karev aka Rev and Mei Alucinor Mr Kate Kaplan aka Mister/Mis)
I must say I'm so glad that Adèl wanted to buy Mister. I knew she would get a great home there and live the perfect life.
Other things happening?
I've decided to retire for a while. Most of you know the reason why. My son and co-owner in the Kennel has taken over the legacy and who knows what his plans are.
To be honest, I have lost so much joy when it comes to this breed.
I love my dogs to pieces.
They are such a great part of my life, but the fun and exitement and joy I had from planning litters, reading pedigrees and comming up with names ... It's not there anymore.
I will of corse help my son with litters and planning and pedigrees.
I will also help good friends with the same.
I'm not sure yet, if I will close down Lancashire Heeler Norway or not.
Since I'm not active in the breed anymore, but I still think that the breed should have a chance in Norway and I think that proper info is needed, so, at least for a while, I will keep the site running.
Speaking of helping friends: A very good friend of mine in Sweden is looking for a male pup.
This dog will live with a family in the countryside in Sweden. It will have a veryg good dog-life, vill be occasionally shown, and if usable, be bred from.
Do you know of any male, please contact me.
I guess that's all for now :-)
